My name is Elizabeth.  I’m a graduate of Texas A&M University, where I studied journalism. I taught school for seven years, and now am mom to my three children, while working part-time. My firstborn son was born with Leigh Syndrome, a progressive form of Mitochondrial Disease. I was thrown into the deep end of special needs parenting, unprepared but determined to give my son the best life possible. I blog passionately to educate others on the reality of raising a child with profound disabilities as well as to process my own thoughts and emotions on life and parenting. I enjoy Mexican food, podcasts, and intelligent conversation.
